Home Ahead is a housing support organization.

SECTION KB-003L - HOUSING SUPPORT ORGANIZATION WITH IN-HOUSE FUNDING DISTINCTION

Home Ahead is a housing support corporation whose primary purpose is to support homeowners, renters, and future homeowners through housing-focused programs, initiatives, participant support activities, educational resources, participant advocacy, affordability opportunities, ownership opportunities, housing-preservation initiatives, and other housing-related support structures.

As part of certain approved programs and initiatives, Home Ahead may provide or facilitate approved In-House Funding initiatives, In-House Grants, In-House Interest-Free Loans, In-House No-Interest Financing, financial assistance opportunities, and other approved participant-support structures funded through Home Ahead resources.

The existence of In-House Funding initiatives does not change Home Ahead's primary role as a housing support organization.

Home Ahead's primary purpose is not the operation of a traditional lending business.

Home Ahead should not be characterized primarily as a bank, credit union, deposit-taking institution, mortgage investment corporation, financing company, traditional commercial lender, or similar financial institution.

Rather, approved In-House Funding initiatives exist as one of several tools that may be utilized within specific Home Ahead programs and initiatives to help advance housing-focused objectives, participant-support objectives, affordability objectives, ownership objectives, housing-preservation objectives, or other approved organizational objectives.

The purpose of this distinction is to ensure that Home Ahead is understood primarily as a housing support organization while accurately recognizing that approved In-House Funding initiatives may form part of certain Home Ahead programs and participant-support activities.
